DEMONS THE MOON and ZODIAC CONSTELLATIONS LINKED

On May 19th, 2007, after having completed the editing and commentary on Richard Stout’s notes of “THE CURS-ED NET,” I went to a local book store to find a particular magazine that my friend had referred me to; the book store did not have this, so I was about to leave, when I saw a large book in a chair that was near the exit. The book was called,.THE LOST BIBLE, so I decided to sit down and browse through it. I found some interesting citations from the psuedepigraphic ‘Book of Enoch,’ which the above series of essays were based upon initially, but then I came upon a reference to another book that fit into this same category, which is called, THE TESTAMANT OF SOLOMON.

I found the below link online, that contains the full 130 verses from this amazing book. I thought it amazing, since it goes into some of the details as part of the very thesis that Richard and I had been working on over the last year, simply, that demons were linked to the Moon, as well as the constellations of the zodiac, and (according to this testament,) Solomon himself (the son of the King David of the Bible,) or someone representing Solomon, was attesting to the fact that they had heard directly from the demons’ mouths, who they were, and what their function were as part of plaguing mankind throughout the ages.

Below the link, I will give just a few references from the text, which would tend to back up our thesis concerning “THE CURS-ED NET,” that there are different types of demons, and they are all subject to “Beelzeboul” or Satan, and that their job is to thwart mankind in some way, shape of form – literally!

The Testament of Solomon, translated by F. C. Conybeare

This digital edition by Joseph H. Peterson, Copyright © 1997. All rights reserved.

This text is an Old Testament Pseudepigraphic catalog of demons summoned by King Solomon, and how they can be countered by invoking angels and other magical techniques. It is one of the oldest magical texts attributed to King Solomon, dating First to Third Century A.D. Translation is by F. C. Conybeare, Jewish Quarterly Review, October, 1898.

I have noted the original page numbers like this: 1. I have renumbered the footnotes to follow each verse. Footnotes in [] by J.H. Peterson.

BELOW ARE SOME OF THE KEY VERSES FROM THE ABOVE TEXT, SHOWING HOW IT DOVETAILS WITH THE WRITINGS OF “THE CURS-ED NET,” as well as the whole of “THE BITE OF THE SERPENT” series, listed on other web pages of this site:

{{NOTE: There are 130 verses in this text. If Solomon wears the “seal of God” which is represented by a ring called ‘PENTALPHA,’ the demons he calls in front of him will be mostly subjected to his commands, or that’s how it appears by what transpires through the ensuing dialogue with them. I would advise the reader to read all 130 verses to get the real flavor of what is being presented in this non-canonical text, keeping in mind that ‘The Book of Enoch’ is technically non-canonical also! Secondly, by presenting this material, I am not acknowledging its authenticity – just as in the same vein, I cannot acknowledge the authenticity of every verse of ‘The Book of Enoch.’ It was not the purpose of the series of essays to do this – but merely show the uncanny connection between what Enoch did state within the literature, and what we can ascertain in today’s troubled world about these same phenomena, (i.e., UFOs & possible demonic abduction phenomenon that pervades the UFO literature; likewise, with this TESTAMENT under focus, since in no wise can it be proven to be historical, may have served another purpose as showing mankind – perhaps metaphorically – the danger he or she is in.}}

Citations from THE TESTAMENT OF SOLOMON

In verse 7, the ring affected the demon Ornias, {{the ring as spoken to in the introduction above,}} who is the demon of water power, i.e., the sign of Aquarius. He can hurt the lust-fallen man. As with all the demons that come forward to speak with Solomon, they all have their “frustrating angel” who somehow keeps them in a type of check, so their limited power does not get out-of-hand!

In verse 16, Beelzeboul (Satan) admits to Solomon that there are female demons also; one is called “Onoskelis,” and the ‘star’ that she is aligned to reflects the full Moon. She has ‘fair hair’ but “with ass’s legs,” and she is a many-sided character who lurks in precipices, caves and ravines; she consorts with men in a semblance of a woman – the men who worship my star! {{NOTE: In the three-part series, we noted that the ‘Book of Deuteronomy’ (4:19,) warns mankind not to worship the Sun, the Moon, or any star, so it looks like men who do, entreat a demon for their forbidden desires…at least according to this testament.}}

Interesting enough, in verse 21, we come across another demon by the name of “Asmodeus,” who admits to being a product of a Fallen Angel and a daughter of man, so he is superior to man – even Solomon! His ‘star’ is THE GREAT BEAR (WAIN) and expects to be free soon. {{As you may remember, THE GREAT BEAR was noted as part of the cursed net, whose cubs were Orion & the Pleiades(all of which are mentioned in the Bible. Now we have a demon who is linked with this constellation; also, this demon is admitting to being one of the fruit of a transgressed union, as per 1 Enoch, chapter 15, so now is what is called an unclean spirit, and earthbound, so would be, in effect, the spirit of one of the Giants of Genesis 6:4.}} His function seems to be to interfere with newly weds, so that he will send men into a passion toward other women other than their wives (verses 22-23.

In verse 34, we see a reference to the Pleiades, as indicated by the footnote within the text; {{in “THE CURS-ED NET” we pointed out that this cluster of stars were part of Taurus, the Bull.}} The Solomon text points out that they represent the 33 elements of cosmic darkness (V.34.) In verse 40, the 6th of the 7 demons of the Pleiades told Solomon that he would lead even him “to err,” as he did before (1 Kings 2:25.) {{When we get to 3 Kings 11, unfortunately we do see Solomon’s love of a particular woman lead to his downfall, that entails worshipping Astarte; the woman’s name is "Jebusaeam," (according to the Solomon Testament,) where he had to honor the idols of Baal, Rapha & Moloch before he could have her. He laments his failings in the last three verses of the Testament (VS. 128-139. The very consorting with demons – besides his penchant for having many women 700 wives & 300 consorts may have helped to lead to his downfall, as was chronicled in 3 Kings of the canonical Bible.)}}

In verse 60, there is another Moon demon called “Enepsigos,” who also is a shape-shifter. {We noted in the series that shape-shifting is another quality possessed by these beings (1 Enoch 19.)

In verse 65, Solomon shuts up the demons in vessels, that is prophesied will be broken by the hands of men, thus allowing the demons to escape to plague mankind again; according to a Gnostic work, “THE TESTIMONY OF TRUTH” tractate (70:5-20) when the Romans came into Jerusalem, and discovered the waterpots (vessels) they were in, and immediately the demons ran out of the water pots to dwell with men upon the earth.

Verses 67-68 refers to a demon called “Kunospaston, and these two verses are worth quoting, since it links the demons with the “wild waves,” of Jude 13, which Richard commented on in the last part of Part One of “THE CURS-ED NET.” Below are the two verses in full:

67. And having praised God, I commanded another spirit to come before me; and there came before my face another demon, having in front the shape of a horse, but behind of a fish. And he had a mighty voice, and said to me: "O King Solomon, I am a fierce spirit of the sea, and I am greedy of gold and silver. I am such a spirit as rounds itself and comes over the expanses of the water of the sea, and I trip up the men who sail thereon. For I round myself into a wave((1)) and transform myself, and then throw myself on ships and come right in on them. And that is my business, and my way of getting hold of money and men. For I take the men, and whirl them round with myself, and hurl the men out of the sea. For I am not covetous of men's bodies, but cast them up out of the sea so far. But since Beelzeboul, ruler of the spirits of air and of those under the earth, and lord of earthly ones, hath a joint kingship with us in respect of the deeds of each one of us, therefore I went up from the sea, to get a certain outlook ((2)) in his company. FOOTNOTES:1. Cp. Jude 13. That Jude here indulges in no mere metaphor is clear from the words which follow, which embody the belief detailed in the Testament of Solomon, p. 40. 2. "descent, or spiritual assault."

68. "But I also have another character and role. I metamorphose myself into waves, and come up from the sea. And I show myself to men, so that those on earth call me Kunospaston1, because I assume the human form. And my name is a true one. For by my passage up into men, I send forth a certain nausea. I came then to take counsel with the prince Beelzeboul; and he bound me and delivered me into thy hands. And I am here before thee because of this seal, and thou dost now torment me((2)). Behold now, in two or three days the spirit that converseth with thee will fail, because I shall have no water."

FOOTNOTES: ((2.)) basaníxeis. Cp. Matt. viii. 6, 29; xiv. 24; Mark v. 7.

Verses 70 & 71 show how the Giants became unclean spirits, which is another very strong testament by Enoch in his own chapter 15 of the Ethiopian version:

70. And there came before my face another enslaved spirit, having obscurely the form of a man, with gleaming eyes, and bearing in his hand a blade. And I asked: "Who art thou? But he answered: "I am a lascivious spirit, engendered of a giant man who dies in the massacre in the time of the giants." I said to him: "Tell me what thou art employed on upon earth, and where thou hast thy dwelling."71. And he said: "My dwelling is in fruitful places, but my procedure is this. I seat myself beside the men who pass along among the tombs, and in untimely season I assume the form of the dead; and if I catch any one, I at once destroy him with my sword. But if I cannot destroy him, I cause him to be possessed with a demon, and to devour his own flesh, and the hair to fall off his chin." But I said to him: "Do thou then be in fear of the God of heaven and of earth, and tell me by angel thou art frustrated." And he answered: "He destroys me who is to become Saviour, a man whose number, if any one shall write it on his forehead1, he will defeat me, and in fear I shall quickly retreat. And, indeed, if any one write this sign on him, I shall be in fear." And I Solomon, on hearing this, and having glorified the Lord God, shut up this demon like the rest. 1. Rev. ix. 4; xiii, 16, 17.

Below is a comment about the 36 world rulers (that St. Paul alludes to in Ephesians 6:12, and how they are connected to the zodiac, which is another part of the thesis of “THE CURS-ED NET”:72. And I commanded another demon to come before me. And there came before my face thirty-six spirits, their heads shapeless like dogs, but in themselves they were human in form; with faces of asses, faces of oxen, and faces of birds. And I Solomon, on hearing and seeing them, wondered, and I asked them and said: "Who are you?" But they, of one accord with one voice, said1: "We are the thirty-six elements, the world-rulers 2 of this darkness. But, O King Solomon, thou wilt not wrong us nor imprison us, nor lay command on us; but since the Lord God has given thee authority over every spirit, in the air, and on the earth, and under the earth, therefore do we also present ourselves before thee like the other spirits, from ram and bull, from 35 both twin and crab, lion and virgin, scales and scorpion, archer, goat-horned, water-pourer, and fish. 1. Acts ii. 1. 2. kosmokratores. Cp. Paul, Eph. vi. 12; Origen, c. Celsum, viii, 58.

Starting in verse 73, these 36 rulers are enumerated, including their functions, etc. (CF. above LINK for details as to the full text of these verses, acting as a comprehensive scourge upon mankind [presumably for the sins that have been committed by same.)

FINAL NOTE ON ABOVE: Since this is not a canonical text, it would be difficult to take everything penned within these 130 verses as “gospel,” ~ but as we have learned by showing how Enoch was linked to the good information of the epistle of St. Jude in the New Testament (and of course, canonical,) and because this Solomon Testament does seem to back-up the warnings of THE HOLY BIBLE – not to serve or honor the things of Astrology, – one may be cautiously optimistic that whoever wrote this pseudepigrapha, (just as Enoch is categorized as,) knew of what he (or she) so penned. I will leave it up to the discretion of the reader to connect the dots as fittingly as possible, if there be a possibility of a linkage….

There does seem to be a causal connection between astrology – demons – and baiting mankind to swallow the lure (and therefore the hook so concealed in.) BEWARE!
