GNOSTICISM: REVIEW IT KNOW IT DISCARD IT

Having waded through the Gnostic literature for a few years, I can attest to how it may (at first) be alluring to the point where you may wish to read the whole of THE NAG HAMMADI LIBRARY.

BEWARE! IT TURNS THE BIBLE ON ITS HEAD. IF YOU LOVE THE BIBLE, YOU NEED TO HAVE “enmity” FOR THE GNOSTIC LITERATURE.

Before even attempting to read any of the given tractates within THE NAG HAMMADI, I think it wise to read what Dr. Joye Jeffries Pugh has to say about it from chapter XVI of her book, “EDEN: The Knowledge of Good and Evil.”

On page 168 of the book, Dr. Pugh states the following:

“As Christians, it is our duty to be ground in the Word so as to avoid being deceived by the lure of Hidden Mysteries and false teachings that are found conjured up in the libraries of Gnosticism.”

The chapter is a tour-de-force of both the general pitfalls of Gnosticism, which twists the HOLY BIBLE as if Satan himself is seen in the BRIGHTEST OF LIGHTS – where it is only he at his deceiving best, tricking us to believe that truth is nothing but lies – yet he himself is THE FATHER OF LIES.

Admittedly, you may not perceive this immediately (almost like a little hungry fly does not perceive its danger as it enters a VENUS FLY TRAP…but spiritually speaking, it is THE SAME THING, and when the snake oil starts to secrete ~~ THE PARTY IS OVER!.

The second part of the chapter familiarizes yourself with THE NAG HAMMADI LIBRARY material, so you know what you are up against – if you dare to enter the VENUS FLY TRAP!
